Here’s the second postcard from my Texas gallivant from a couple of months ago, with all things Dallas eat drink and sightseeing (if you missed the first one, it was on San Antonio)! Sharing this in case you need inspiration (or just a starting point) for any trip that takes you to Dallas.
Again, if you have any recommendations for me to check out the next time I’m there, please leave a comment below 👇
destinations
Dallas has a lot of arboretums and museums (which I didn’t have time to visit because #work), but nothing super standout-wow-iconic-touristy, if you know what I mean. On the food end, my friend gave me great recommendations so I’m riding on her coattails and sharing the list with y’all 😉
sights I got to see
Greenville Ave.—in general, this street is LONG, but as you keep going south and enter Lower Greenville, this is where all of the blocks of cute storefronts are chillin’! The main “hip” block I got to check out was near Sears St. and Prospect Ave. (where the Trader Joe’s is)
Knox St.—a mini strip of cute storefronts and restaurants between Travis St. and McKinney Ave.
Highland Park neighborhood in general—think large lawns, big properties, custom houses (like Queen St. in Charlotte); I only know of this area because Knox St. is essentially smack in the middle of all of the gorgeousness
other places that I couldn’t make it to this time
White Rock Lake—free park that’s great for picnics
AT&T Discovery Plaza—open square in the middle of downtown with a beautiful bottom-top view of the skyscrapers
Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden—super pretty but requires admissions moolah

Son of a Butcher // cute little burgers the size of your palm that use locally raised, organic Wagyu beef (they also have non-red meat and vegetarian options too in case you were wondering!)
Cris and John // you can’t tell by the name, but they sell deliciously photogenic Vietnamese-Mexican fusion items that are extremely cravings-inspiring. Their pho broth makes me want pho everyday🤤

Botolino Gelato Artigianale // the masterpiece of a 3rd generation gelatiere and you can TASTE the difference. It really really really reminded me of my first gelato love from Germany, Zàgara 😍
Buzz & Bustle // is a cozy community center of a resorts-style living property that does. it. ALL… including a stunning menu that serves #craftcoffee, really great croissants, pastries, etc., and also light bites like sandwiches and salads. Ugh, can you be in my community plz?!
La La Land Kind Cafe // coffee for a cause, with a side of cheery yellow bright interior vibes and organic pastries. This Dallas original is worth popping into even if you have a busy itinerary, trust me.
Village Baking Co. // classic viennoiserie with artisanal rustic loaves, using local high-quality Texas wheat. The pastries I did have here weren’t my absolute favorite (details in the review), but I also went at 6 PM so that might not be their fault :) worth checking them out for a #feelslikeEurope vibe.
And with that, we put a stamp on it & send it off. Thanks for getting this in the mail,
~ cath!!
