the ELEVATOR PITCH
I totally stumbled upon this hidden sparkly gorgeous DIAMOND on my way to Son of a Butcher. The gelato here is WOW delicious (very comparable to one of my favorites from Germany, Zàgara!). The owner and 3rd generation gelatiere, Carlo Gattini, is a perfectionist of his craft (known as the Gelato Man), opening his first storefront in 2017 in Dallas, Texas after completing his gelato training at Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna, Italy. While he says his style is “Italo Texano,” everything about the gelato flavors and textures here feel authentically European in their simplicity.

honest reviews below on what I ordered 👇
Don Pistachio (1/2 kids scoop): the smoothness in texture is incomprehensible! The pistachio flavor itself was on the subtler end for me though, and I would’ve liked it to shift a little more center stage (over the milk & cream). (rating: 8/10)
Coconut Stracciatella (1/2 kids scoop): omg! I loved how the texture of the shredded coconut was so prevalent in here, and the dark chocolate slivers were nice crunchy surprises (though the chocolate fiend in me wanted a dash more chocolate). My first time having a coconut stracciatella and I have to say, it needs to always be in my life. (rating: 10/10)
👉 House Made Cone: this had the texture and flavor of a sugar cone in its crispness and slightly caramelized sweetness. Contrasting nicely with the silky milky yet dense-bodied gelato with its crunch! Only dissatisfactory piece: the bottom of the cone wasn’t sealed so started to leak the melted gelato immediately… make this a lower rating overall. 😢 (rating: 7/10)
