The Hobbyist
Review! Charlotte, North Carolina // coffee shop + other beverages // community staple

the ELEVATOR PITCH
This jack-of-all-trades is actually quite the master of all that it does! When you walk in from the street, you get an immediate specialty small snacks/local trinkets/unique beverages market vibe which is amplified even more in the summers when the garage door is open, with the fresh air and sunlight bursting in.
When you enter from the back door, you are met with pockets of seating that each provide a different experience: choose to sit at the bar for an intimate view of the behind-the-counter hustle and bustle, sit in an alcove for an in-your-friend’s-living-room, just-a-casual-hang feel, or pick a table to get some work done/have that classic face-to-face conversation with someone. The Hobbyist truly offers an atmosphere for any type of small-group connection on your calendar!
But…the versatility doesn’t end there. From wines, beers, and kombuchas to your classic espresso and tea options (with housemade syrups! And a from-scratch chai latte, none of that concentrate stuff), it’ll be difficult for even the pickiest of friends to not find something to enjoy. It’s almost like The Hobbyist took every possible excuse a person could make for not wanting to come and debunked them: the wide variety of seating options partnered with the wide selection of beverages, coupled with strong wifi and late hours (closes at 9 PM on the weekdays) really makes The Hobbyist perfect for every occasion and personality.
