Subculture Urban Cuisine & Cafe
Review! Nashville, Tennessee // New American brunch + lunch // local gem

the ELEVATOR PITCH
Born in Chile, raised in South Nashville, owner and menu mastermind, Pablo, takes his generational love for cooking and channels it into this intimate, family-owned-and-operated hidden gem located in a nondescript shopping plaza in Antioch. The interior has the energy of a retro-American breakfast diner but the look of a refreshing fast-casual eatery with its pistachio green walls, faux marble tables, metal bistro chairs, and well-designed logo.
Subculture Urban Cuisine & Cafe truly is the kind of “travel like the locals” destination, serving up flavorful New American menu items like Grilled Cheese French Toast while also nailing Nashville classics, like a hot fried chicken sandwich.

Reviews on the munchies pictured above:
Churrasco Sandwich: not my personal order, but it’s a regular favorite for my friends! It looks DIVINE.
Steak Breakfast Burrito: everything melts together in a warm, toasted tortilla, like a good breakfast burrito should. I used to work in a cafe that sold the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had, and this one completely matches it, making this entire eating experience so nostalgic for me. Only thing missing, which is a personal preference, some veggies! (rating: 9/10)
Grilled Cheese French Toast with Fried Chicken: grilled cheese sandwich with cream cheese & Muenster in the middle, turned into French toast, served with homemade triple berry compote, with a “Nashville Hot” fried chicken piece added, what could get better than that? Words exactly from my husband: better than Chicken & Waffles, all brunch places need to think about adding this to their menus! (rating: 8/10)
