Soup Dumplings STL
Review! St. Louis, Missouri // Chinese restaurant // must-try
the ELEVATOR PITCH
Soup Dumplings STL is a MIND-changer, boat-ROCKER, the MOVER and SHAKER of all soup dumpling time. Soup Dumplings STL is to the overhyped Din Tai Fung like David is to Goliath: a through and through underdog story.
And I am not being dramatic. I was never a huge fan of Chinese soup dumplings (and that’s after having eaten from the Shanghai street vendors too) but can you believe this place changed my mind?! I still can’t!
We tried the crab & pork, chicken, and original pork dumplings, and the fillings were all absolutely delicious (none of these fillings had any of that weird meat-sitting-out-in-the-open-market-smell taste). One bite & I felt transported back to my family's hometown of Shanghai... the only qualm: the homemade dumpling wrapper is a little too THICC 👀
