the ELEVATOR PITCH
NOT to be mistaken with Einstein Bros Bagels, this Kaffeehaus opened its first Viennese coffee house in Berlin, Germany in 1978 and has since peppered the city like poppy seeds on an everything bagel.
What I enjoy about Einstein Kaffee is that their 20 locations feel like siblings from a large family—they all have that familial resemblance, but each brick-and-mortar has its own unique character and personality. Such as this one, standing elegantly near Checkpoint Charlie on Friedrichstraße, isn't she simply overflowing with regal sophistication, majestic nobility, and effortless grace?
We ordered their chai latte, Belgian waffle, raisin oatmeal bar, and a coffee with a thick cream that resembled soft serve. The chai was typical compared to others I had in Berlin: fairly mild in flavor (I personally prefer my chai stronger). But I would highly recommend the waffle, its texture is denser than a typical American waffle, almost but not quite yeast-y, with a caramelized sweetness woven throughout. A perfect grab & go, U-Bahn snack!
